December is a hectic month and to soothe my nerves and bring me into the Christmas cheer, the baritone voice of Josh Groban filled my space with his calming, soulful music that elevated me into a state of pure bliss.
For someone so young to possess such a powerful voice as Josh is incredible and he masterfully pens his music to showcase his vocals to perfection.
I have most of his albums and his Christmas album Noel is currently on repeat. I was so ecstatic that he sang one of my favourite songs on that album, Panis Angelicus. There is something about that song, it seems like the ultimate praise to the heavens or the angels. It is so magical, so surreal, so mesmerising. I could never get enough of it. And of course, he did the song justice.
His rendition of Ave Maria is also marvelous; it just captivates you and arrests the senses that there is nothing to be done but to sit in a dreamlike state and listen to the melodic sounds of his voice wafting through the air.
I remember reading Jude the Obscure and February Song came on and to this day, every time I hear that song, I think of the book. The mood of the song matched the book perfectly.
In concluding the year, Josh is my pick for December. All good things happen in December!
